YEAR LONG CLASSES : AUG - JUNE

MUSICAL THEATRE

Classes will work as an ensemble, studying acting through movement, character physicality, Musical Theatre dance styles and group singing. This class has the option of performing in MVSA’s end of the year production

VOCAL PERFORMANCE

Classes will work on solo and small group performance, working on vocal technique, acting the song and finding confidence in your individuality. This class is semi-private and has the option of performing in MVSA’s end of the year production. Space is limited.

ACTING

Classes will work to build tools and techniques for the stage and camera.
Student will work on character analysis, script scoring, scene work, and improvisation.

Private Coaching + Audition Prep

Build a strong repertoire of material from Songs to Monologues to dance that will highlight your best performance qualities and show your range as a performer across all disciplines. Work on vocal and acting techniques to enhance overall performance and choose the best material for each audition with professional guidance. Get more comfortable with dance technique so you can feel confident at your dance call. We tailor to your individual needs. Our private coaches go a step beyond, acting as mentors helping students select headshots, and other admission material such as resumes and pre-screens. Coaches will also facilitate and moderate tapings for pre-screens and recordings for virtual auditions.

MAP has a perfect track record gaining students acceptance for into their top choice Magnet schools ( MAS, South Miami Theatre Magnet and South Wood Theatre Magnet ) Summer Programs ( Actor Therapy NYC ) and College Programs ( NYU Tisch ).

MAP DIRECTOR

SUKI LOPEZ

Suki Lopez is an actress, singer and dancer best known for her role of Nina on Sesame Street (HBO). Lopez started her dance training in 1992 at MVSA and attended intensive programs at The Rock School, Joffrey and A.B.T. throughout her training. After high-school Suki moved to New York City to pursue an education in Musical Theatre at CAP21’s esteemed conservatory program.

Suki landed her first professional job as a lead role in Disney Cruise Line’s Wishes. Career highlights include; The National tour of West Side Story, (Consuela /understudy Anita), Singing In The Rain at Merry-Go-Round Playhouse (ensemble), staged reading of new play The Beast In My Pants (Pam), Guest star role on Bravo’s Odd Mom Out, commercial work for Chrysler, and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade performances with Sesame Street. Lopez holds a bachelors in Science from The New School.
